James Redd Obituary

James D. Redd, age 80, passed away October 27, 2024. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and served as a Lucedale City Alderman. He was an avid sports fan. He was a devoted husband, loving father, Pawpaw and dear friend.                  

He is preceded in death by his mother, Eva Dee Rogers Jodoin; mother-in-law, Elvie Todd; father-in-law, Talmond Todd.    

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Barbara Todd Redd; children, Roger (Rebekah) Redd, William (Amy) Redd, and Terry (Stacy) Rogers; grandchildren, Courtney (CT) Weatherford, Dustin (Shae) Rogers, Todd (Madeline) Redd, Forrest (Maggie) Redd, and Paris Redd Knight; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Beth (Wayne) Nelson, Brenda Yates, and Ruth Hockett; sisters-in-law, Linda (Budgie) Acord, Pat (Kenneth) Cookston, and Judy (Bobby) Atwood; numerous other relatives and friends.    

The Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Mike McLeod, and Bro. Richard Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dustin Rogers, Todd Redd, Forrest Redd, Jackson Turner, Kelvin Nelson, and Dakota Williamson. Honorary Pallbearers include Don Barry, Ronnie Cottingham, Horace Goff, and Robert Tanner.
