James Larry Daniels, age 73, passed away July 29, 2022. He was a 1967 graduate of Leakesville High School. He was captain of the football team, guard in basketball and also on the baseball team. He was a veteran and served in Vietnam in 1969. He was stationed at Outpost Gloria. Larry was also a preacher and pastor at Life Tabernacle for many years. He touched many lives throughout his journey. He always tried his hand in many different things. He owned Photo+ for many years, capturing memories for a lot of people. He also owned a computer business at one time, plus many more things. Larry served on the City Council for 12 years as Alderman and received a key to the city. He was a huge Alabama football fan. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Some of his best memories are fishing with his mom. To try and sum up his life in a few paragraphs is impossible. He lived life to the fullest and was fearless. He had a heart of gold and would give anyone the shirt off his back. There was only one Larry Daniels! And as he would say, “Roll Tide”.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Cindy Daniels; dad, Wheeler Daniels; brothers, Darrel Daniels and Steve Daniels; sister, Rhonda Daniels.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Vickie (Larry) Byrd and Robin Daniels; sons, Jay Daniels and Derek (Misty) Daniels; loyal dog for 12 years, Molly; grandchildren, Wendi (Daniel) Smith, Trevor (Olivia) Byrd, Alex Byrd, Emily (Corey) Tucker, Dillion Daniels, Kaitlin Daniels, Kiana Daniels, Kaylee Daniels, Drew Hicks, Nicholas Paslay, Dalton Daniels, Katelyn Daniels, Caiden Daniels, Chloe Daniels, Greyson Daniels and nine great grandchildren; mother, Doris Daniels; brothers, Kenny Daniels and Joe Lecates; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for James Larry Daniels will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home, Leakesville. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, August 3, 2022 beginning at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Zack Daniels, Dalton Daniels, Caiden Daniels, Dillion Daniels, Alex Byrd and Drew Hicks. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jimmy Christy.
