Jack Scott Kennedy, age 65, passed away November 20, 2025. He was a proud Top 10 graduate of Pearl River Academy, Class of 1978. During his years in Picayune, Scott formed a close and lasting friendship with Kenny, and in time, life led them both to marry sisters and later move to Hurley, where their friendship grew into family.
Scott worked at Mississippi Power, Plant Daniel, as a CEO (Coal Equipment Operator) for over 35 years. He was also actively involved in the Jackson County Livestock 4-H program. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and tending to his cows.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack (Barbara) Kennedy; mother, Melba (Richard) Seale; sister, Sheila Bullock.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Janet Kennedy; children, Dustin (Rachel) Kennedy, and Clint (April) Kennedy; lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Kenny (Kim) Goss; grandchildren, Abbie, Alyssa, Cooper, Addison Cate, Case, Dalton, Asher, Asa, and Charlee Anne; special nephew and niece, Punkin and Bubba; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Monday, November 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jason Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow in Robert’s Chapel cemetery. Pallbearers include Brandon Goss, Dillon Goss, Charles Davidson, Jeremy Cronier, Robert Ready, and Lane Grant.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to his favorite charity, Shriners Hospital for Children.
