Jex Danel “JD” Havard, Jr., age 97, passed away January 13, 2025. He proudly served in the United States Army, United States Navy and the National Guard. He received the World War II Victory Medal. He worked hard as a Boilermaker and was a member of the Boilermakers Union 110 of Hattiesburg. He was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church and the Local Masonic Lodge #430. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and wonderful grandpa who will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jex Daniel Havard, Sr., and Irene Pierce Havard; siblings, Eula Mae Guin, Jessie Matthews, Pete Havard, Hazel Simon, Harley T. Havard, Truman Havard, Benny Havard, Frank Havard, and Elouise “Coot” Graham; great grandchild, Allison Elizabeth Worzella.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ada Rebecca Bellamy Havard; children, Bonny (Jerry) Worzella, Miriam A. (Steven) Lake, Eddie Danial (Marcie) Havard, Wanda Sue (James) Decker, and April Denyne (Robby) Havard; grandchildren, Danny, Mickey, Chellie, Melissa, Amanda, Warren, Brian, Bridget, Mary, James II, Joseph, Danny, Ben, and Heather; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Kara, Neal, Joshua, Sarah, Londyn, Jex, Micheal, Brittany, Drake, Savanah, Cannon, Conner, Liam, Charlotte, Eliza, Shane, Keaton, Christian, Samantha, Auri, Bella, JT, Emily, and McKayla; great-great grandchild, Winnie; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Friday, January 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jerry Worzella officiating. Burial will follow in Canaan Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Danny Worzella, Mickey Worzella, Brian Havard, Heather Loper, Benjamin Loper, Warren Lake, James Deckr, Danny Ray Schneider.
