Hubert "Jake" Morgan, Jr.

Hubert Edwin “Jake” Morgan, Jr, age 77, passed away December 12, 2024. He was a 1967 graduate of George County High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. He was an active member of Magnolia Springs Assembly of God Church and worked as an electrician at Huntington Ingalls for many years. After retirement he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and dear friend.       

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert E. Morgan and Myrtle Brown Morgan; sister, Elizabeth Morgan and brother, David Morgan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Phyllis Morgan; sons, Jake (Lori) Morgan, Justin Morgan, and Kevin (Kaycee) Morgan; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Trevor) Luce, Chloe Morgan, Elam Morgan, Knox Morgan and Pate Morgan; great grandchildren, Thomas Luce, Annika Luce and Owen Landrum; brother, Bill (Sylvia) Morgan; sisters, Bonnie (George) Welford, and Susan Crabtree; sister-in-law, Phillis Morgan.   

The Visitation will be Monday, December 16, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Magnolia Springs Assembly of God Church in Hurley. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 17, 2024 beginning at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Agricola Cemetery. Pallbearers include his nephews, Jason Welford, Matt Welford, Brad Morgan, Jon David Morgan, Andrew Heath, Austin Crabtree, and Alex Crabtree.
