Hannis Eudell “Jimmy” Lofton, age 76, passed away August 18, 2025. Jimmy was a graduate of Vigor High School and dedicated many years of his life working as a skilled pipe welder. Beyond his trade, he had a lifelong passion for training racehorses and sharing his gift of music. He loved playing the bass guitar and singing—whether in worship services or anywhere he had the chance. An outdoorsman at heart, he enjoyed hunting and spending time in nature. He attended New Antioch Full Gospel and was a loving grandfather, brother and friend.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Lofton; children, Tina L. Elliott and Timothy E. Lofton; parents, Christine Lofton and Rev. Gavin L. Lofton; siblings, Alvin R. Lofton, Debra Edmond, and Phyllis L. Lofton.
Those left to cherish his memory include his grandsons, Michael (Savannah) Elliott, Joseph Elliott, Dustin Elliott, and Tristin (Katherine) Elliott; great grandchildren, Brody Elliott, Brannan Elliott, and Everette Elliott; siblings, Alice Faye Sylvester, Mickey Hollie, Joyce Ann (Terry) Mullis, Donald Lofton and Ronald Lofton; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Heath Havard officiating. Burial will follow in Tanner’s Family Cemetery.
