Gerald Dewaine Hovatter, age 77, passed away November 22, 2021. He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding for over forty years. He was a loving husband, father and brother.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Hovatter; children, Shaine Hovatter, Wayne Hovatter and Gloria Hovatter; stepson, Timmy Baxter; parents, Gerald Wilbur Hovatter and Lottie Marie Everett Green; brothers, Jerry (Sandra) Hovatter and Greg (Linda) Hovatter; sisters, Judy (Terry) Holder and Wilma Helton.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Tracy Hovatter; grandchildren, Ruby Matthews, Amy Goldman, Ashley Hamilton, Jonathan Hovatter and Dustin Hovatter; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie Turner, Buddy (Doris) Hovatter, Sue (Leonard) Riles, Peggy McNider, Bleandia (Donnie Grimes) Dixon, Martina (Mark) Jamison, Jimmy Green, Tammy Goldman and Becky (Reggie) Bradley; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Gerald Hovatter will be Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Leakesville First United Pentecostal Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Irvis Dale Everett and Bro. Shillings officiating. Burial will follow at McLeod-Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers include Van Helton, Jake Helton, Dirkin Helton, Tony Crabtree, Adam Pierce and Dakota Kittrell.
