Ms. Florine M. Newburn, age 82, passed away April 16, 2019. She was born in Lucedale to the late Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Davis. Florine eventually settled with her first husband and the couple had four children. After his death, she remarried to the late Mr. William Newburn and the couple settled in the Cooks Corner area. Ms. Newburn was involved in several self-employment ventures including a cactus nursery, daycare center and other retail businesses. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and attended as long as her health allowed. Ms. Florine was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Newburn; previous husband, Arthur Musgrove; parents, Henry Gordon “Gordie” Davis and Julia Sybil Adams Davis; siblings, Franklin Joe Davis, Barbara Nell Davis and Hazel Janice Davis.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Clifford (Janet) Musgrove, Loretta (Mitchell) Harrell, Lydia (Larry) Shoemaker all of Lucedale, Marilyn Lewis of Hattiesburg, Billy (Diane) Newburn of Mobile, Susan Vaughn of Marble Falls, Texas and Mona Paiz of Georgetown, Texas; siblings, Tressie Davidson, Kenneth (Kathia) Davis, Elizabeth "Liz" Simpson, Mildred Hodge, Alice (Robert) Adams, Blane (Ann) Davis and Donna Lynn (Kenneth) Davis all of Lucedale, Ernestine Musgrove of Walker, Louisiana, Raymond (Evelyn) Davis of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Delorse Baker Kirkland of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Ms. Florine Newburn will be Friday, April 19, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow beginning at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Norman Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove cemetery. Pallbearers include Shane Musgrove, Jeremy Musgrove, Josh Musgrove, Heath Shoemaker, Meagan Salter and Kaylon Lewis.
