Erwin "Peanut" Bullock Obituary

Erwin “Peanut” Bullock, age 69, passed away December 16, 2020. He was born January 18, 1951 in Jackson County, Mississippi.

Peanut and Lynn would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in May.  He was a devoted husband, father and pawpaw who loved his family beyond measure.  His greatest thrill in life was to experience and be around them, especially the grandchildren.

He attended Salem United Methodist Church, always getting there early so he could visit.  It was not uncommon for the pastor to have to wait on him to sit down so he could begin.  He was a man who believed and trusted his Savior Jesus Christ and also believed in the power of prayer.

He was a graduate of East Central High School in 1969.  Some of his best stories to tell were those that revolved around his football years under Coaches L. R. Nelson and Durwood Shirley.  He went on to become a welder by trade, traveling to different construction sites.  He soon became known for his ability to Heli-Arc weld, which led to special projects.  For over 20 years leading up to retirement, he worked at Ingalls in Production Control as a Planner.

He spent many years enjoying hunting and fishing, tending to his animals, and training border collies.  Abigail, one of his border collies,  soon became a constant companion. Some of his favorite times were coaching a girls softball team that Ginifer played on, taking Shane and Mance to all the different horse shows and traveling to various states with Lynn showing Boar goats that they raised.

He never met a stranger and would seize the moment to tell them a story.  He was always sharing old family tales and events of his life from his youth forward.  One of the highlights of his week besides attending church was going to George County Stockyard and walking and browsing “Chicken Row”.  You never knew what he was going to come home with.  It may be anything from a sick goat that he would nurse back to good health or a must have find on “Chicken Row”.

After retiring, he enjoyed visiting with the residents of George Regional Health and Rehab passing out stuffed toys.  Nothing made him happier than to put a smile on another person’s face.  He enjoyed doing woodworking, sawing up cedar logs to make carpenter bee traps under the name of “C-Bees Gone”.  Probably the most enjoyment he had was his daily ride around his small community on his “Buggy”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Francis “Love” Hudson Bullock; father-in-law, Bill Harris.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lynn Harris Bullock; children, Ginifer (Jeff) Goellner, Shane (Julia) Bullock and Mance (Toni) Bullock; grandchildren, Tyler Sperry, Matthew Goellner, Seth Goellner, Sarah Goellner, Garret Bullock, Lee Daniel, Elliott Daniel, Lauren Daniel, Cole Contestabile and Alexus Bullock; brother, Mike (Diane) Bullock; mother-in-law, Evelyn Harris; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
