Elvis Franklin Havard, “Deer Hunter”, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. He worked many years as a Boilermaker and was a member of the Local 110. He was a faithful member of Family Life Church, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and dear friend who will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his son, Elvis Wayne Havard; daughter, Karri Faye Welch; mother of his children, Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Johnson; parents, Roland Franklin Havard and Ray Bell Brown Havard; siblings, Charles Edward Havard, Ernest Ray Havard, Clarcy May Cook, Shirley Ruth Goff, Pearly Jean Cook, Abner Lamar Havard, Jimmy Levell Havard and Lavern Havard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Doris Havard; children, Janice Mason, Thomas “Tommy” (Karen) Havard, Larry (Audrey) Havard and Derick Prince; daughter-in-law, Ramona Havard; step-son, John Murry (Dorthy Gail) Hamilton; grandchildren, Brandi, Denice, Ann, Justin, Derrick, Ernie, Megan, Ashley, Amanda, Hunter, Devon and Alex; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Elvis Franklin Havard will be Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Family Life Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Archie Holley and Bro. Jerry Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ernie Havard, Justin Havard, Hunter Havard, Preston Couch, Jason Couch and Brian Cook. Honorary Pallbearers include Jamie Havard and Bill Martin.
