Ellis Ray Sumrall, Sr., “Sonny Boy”, age 85, passed peacefully on June 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He greatly enjoyed time outdoors, fishing and time with family. He loved to attend auctions and buy and sell cars. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a great provider for loved ones and the community.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Octavia Howell Sumrall; parents, James Eugene Sumrall, Sr. and Myrtle Lee Aultman Sumrall; siblings, Junior Sumrall, Mike Sumrall, Curtis Sumrall, Chellie Brown, Robbie Fairley, Nell Williams, Bea Rogers and Lucy Littlefield.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Lynn (the late John) Maples, Brenda (Bill) Ford, Ray (the late Julia) Sumrall, Jana (Terry) Overstreet, Shane Sumrall and Bambi Calton; grandchildren, Shawna (Neal) Fairley, Ted (Sabrina) Maples, Tyrel (Monica) Ford, Octavia (Quade) Goff, Chase (Kathrine) Ford, Ben (Cherish) Ford, Brandon (Ashley) Sumrall, Ethan (Taylor) Sumrall, Reagan (Joseph) Thompson, Hank (Cayla) Overstreet, Trevor (Melissa) Overstreet and Collin Overstreet; great grandchildren, Chelsea (Justin), Cameron (Allie), Seth, Kylie, Jayla, Braxton, Kandence, Jake, Emma, Amelia, Willow, Taylah, Easton, Kinsley, Maddux, Malania, Maribella, Kayleigh, Adrian, Bryson, Benton, Lathan, John, Roy, Luke, Rayden, Annie and Melody; great-great grandchildren, Malachi, Titis and Macie; sister, Betty Jean Sumrall Sellers; loving pets, Carter and Fuzzy; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Ellis Sumrall will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at noon in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Lamar Loper officiating. Burial will follow in Sumrall Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ted Maples, Justin Littlefield, Neal Fairley, Cameron Williams, Tyrel Ford, Quade Goff, Ben Ford, Chase Ford, Brandon Sumrall, Ethan Sumrall, Hank Overstreet, Trevor Overstreet, Collin Overstreet and Steve Littlefield.
