Edward Lamar “Hobo” Fountain, age 57, passed away February 28, 2021. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and working on his farm. His passions included being a service to the community, fundraising for families in need. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was dedicated to the Annual Toy Drive for Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children for the last five years. He loved playing Santa Clause in the annual Christmas Parade. He was a devoted husband, loving father and Pawpaw.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Daisey Lanell Thompson; maternal grandparents, Rob and Roselea Waller; paternal grandparents, Henry and Ella Ree Fountain; beloved horse, Sunshine.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Amy Grimes Fountain; children, Janiece Fountain (Barret) Scarbrough and Edward Lamar “Jay” (Veronica)Fountain, Jr.; grandchildren, Kaylee Ophelia Fountain and Rowan Dean Scarbrough; father, Jerry Edward Thompson; siblings, Mike (Vongia) Fountain, Dale Fountain, Doris (Rickie) Holder, Marvin Fountain, Jerry (Kare) Thompson, Jr., Michael Fountain, Jr. and Shonda Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Edward Lamar Fountain will be Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home Leakesville. The Funeral Service will follow beginning at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Clark and Bro. Richard Dykes officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Family Cemetery.
