Doyle Wayne Moody, age 73, passed away September 1, 2024. He was a member of Crossroads Methodist Church where he served as Administrative Chairman.
Doyle grew up in George County hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family outdoors. He was devoted to his wife and soulmate, Susan, for nearly 30 years. Together they doted on their grandchildren. He was special in every way, always having a grandchild at his side. Doyle had a great sense of humor. He was a gentle, kindhearted, loving man who will be missed by many.
Doyle is a graduate of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College – Perkinston campus and The University of Southern Mississippi. Following college, he worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding, Engineering Test and Trials for 38 years. He had served as a George County Representative on the MGCCC Board of Trustees for six years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William “Frank” Moody, and Betty Jean Woodard Moody; brother, William “Larry” Moody.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Susan; daughter, Melissa Moody; stepson, John (Ashley) Clark; stepdaughter, Sarah Clark (Aaron) Bazzell; grandchildren, Arabella Clark, Jack Clark, Scarlett Bazzell, Mary Ella Bazzell, and Anniston Bazzell; siblings, Charlotte (David) Conner, Rickey Moody and Frankie (Sa’id) Samman; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Crossroads Methodist Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM with Bro. Jeff Trehern, and Bro. Larry Havard officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Aaron Bazzell, Jack Clark, Dr. David Conner, Adam Mason, Rickey Moody, and Stacy Moody.
