Dorothy Lee Howell

Dorothy Lee Howell, age 81, passed away September 5, 2024. She was a member of Antioch Church in Benndale and greatly enjoyed farming and raising livestock with her late husband. She co-owned the Benndale Superstore and served as George County Election Commissioner for 32 years until retirement. She was a faithful Christian, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Cedric Howell; son, Allen Howell; parents, Brunner and Ethel Goff.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Abby (Lloyd) Goff and son, Buddy (Kellie) Howell; grandchildren, Austin Howell, Chris Howell, and Nicole Wallace; great grandchildren, Jenna Wallace, Luke Wallace, Evelyn Howell, and Lottie Howell; sister, Vermell Brown; numerous other relatives and friends.    

The Visitation will be Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Moments Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bobby Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Chris Howell, Austin Howell, Luke Wallace, Jonathan Wallace, Mike Steede, Wakey Mixon, and Matt Reeves.     

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Antioch Church Cemetery Fund.
