Donald Jones

Donald Jones, age 66, passed away September 13, 2023. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 45 years of service. He was a devoted husband, loving father who raised five girls, Pawpaw and brother who will be dearly missed.             

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Ollie “Rollie” and Joann Butterworth Jones; siblings, Ed Jones, Mark Jones and Tom Jones.      

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Kathy Smith Jones; children, Chrissy (Wayne) Colburn, Brandy (Andy) Havard, Donna (Jason) Mixon, Lynn (Jeremy) Holland and Sammy Jones; grandchildren, Savannah Shoemaker, Shelby Shoemaker, Joseph Shoemaker, Mackensey (Colby) Adams, Dylan Havard, Macy Mixon, Colby Mixon and Maggie Jones; great grandchildren, Alaina and Kacie Adams; siblings, Ronnie (Shelia) Jones, Raymond (Michelle) Jones, Wayne Jones and Junior Jones; six step-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.          

The Visitation will be Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Pipkins Cemetery. Pallbearers include Matthew Payne, Chandler Smith, Ron McMillian, Jeremy Holland, Jason Mixon and Patrick Jones. Honorary pallbearers include Dylan Havard, Joseph Shoemaker and Colby Mixon.
