David Lionell Smith

David Lionell Smith, age 62, passed away January 10, 2026. He loved Jesus. He spent over 30 years at Mississippi Power as a substation electrician then retired and began to find many other jobs to do including, working at the nursey, helping at the church, but most importantly spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.  

He is preceded in death by his father, Lionell Smith.    

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Amy Smith; children, Kayla (Joanna) Smith and Jonathan Smith; mother, Voncie Smith; siblings, Pamela Smith (Johnny) Graham, Susan Smith Churchwell, and Karen Smith (Troy) Murphy; mother of his children, Sandra Smith; close friends, Doug (Barbra) Byrd, Dan Byrd, and Bryan Byrd; numerous other relatives and friends.    

The Visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Steve Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
