David Mizell Obituary

David Edward Mizell, age 77, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026.

A proud 1966 graduate of George County High School, David went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army as a Radio Man during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968. He remained deeply proud of his military service throughout his life and stayed actively involved in veteran affairs. David was a Mason and Shriner and a member of Lodge 430. He also became a 3/5 Black Knight.

Known for his strong work ethic and independent spirit, he worked as an electrician for more than 25 years. He also owned and operated his own company for some time. Never shying away from hard work or new ventures, he dabbled in many interests and approached life with curiosity and determination.

In his free time, David enjoyed trading silver, watching western movies, fishing, following sports, and seeking out more adventures. Above all else, he cherished his family and was deeply involved in their lives, finding his greatest joy in the people he loved.

David will be remembered for his service, his work ethic, his many interests, and his unwavering devotion to family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Fowler Mizell; parents, David W. “Monkey” and Myrtis Mizell.
