Christy Lee Butler

Christy Lee Butler, age 56, passed away June 11, 2025 surrounded by her family and friends. She was a 1986 graduate of East Central High School. She was a highly respected secretary with the George County School District and worked at LT Taylor Intermediate School. She was a faithful member of Full Life Assembly where she served the Lord for over 30 years. She was involved in many ministries, including Children’s Church and the Royal Rangers. She made a tremendous impact on the lives of many. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, loyal friend, coworker and much more to so many. She loved BIG and left a deep footprint in the lives she touched. Her greater-than-life personality will be dearly missed.    

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Lee and Glenda Ann Roberts Cushman.        

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Steven Butler; children, Eric (Devinn) Moss, Savannah (Michael) Elliott, Lily Butler, and Aaron Butler; grandchildren, Dakota Moss, Dallas Moss, and Everette Elliott; siblings, Lisa (David) Karpenko, Richard (Lauren) Cushman, and Tiffany (Zach) Scarbrough; nieces, Rebecca, and Sierra; grand nieces, Emma, Ava, Ally, and Ahlanna; grand nephew, Brayden; best friend and soul sister, Renata Richardson; numerous other relatives and friends.          

The Visitation will be Monday, June 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jimbo Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Movella Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include William Roberts, Larry Autry, Eric Trigg, Eric Nelson, Michael Creel, and Bart Cauley.
