Cherry Denise Nelson

Cherry Denise Nelson, age 68, passed away peacefully April 12, 2025 with her family by her side. She graduated from Pascagoula High School and served as a dedicated Caregiver to anyone in need for many years. She greatly enjoyed traveling the country in search of all the beautiful fall foliage. She deeply loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and worshipped with the Pentecostal church. Her servant spirit was evident in every aspect of her life. Her love and devotion to her two boys was unwavering. She was a loving wife, mother, Mamaw, and true friend who will be greatly missed.                    

She is preceded in death by her stepson, Alan Lewis; parents, John Raymond and Josephine Davidson Ray; sister, Deborah Smith.   

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John Nelson; sons, Brad (Lisa) Nelson and Jason (Beverly) Nelson; grandchildren, Brianna (Blake) Fortenberry, Samantha Nelson, Addison Nelson, Joshua Nelson, Andrew Davis, Isabella Lewis, and Jessie Lewis; brother, Dale (Amy) Ray; mother-in-law, Christine Nelson; numerous other relatives and friends.      

The Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Crossroads United Pentecostal Church. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Dillion officiating. Burial will follow in Crossroads United Pentecostal Church cemetery.
