Bernice King Obituary

Bernice Littlefield King, age 81, passed away in Lucedale, Mississippi on April 26, 2025.  She was born November 22, 1943 to Manson and Lucy Littlefield.  She married Charles Ray King, Sr. on September 16, 1959.  They were married for 22 years, during which time he was an active duty member of the United State Navy.

She was a homemaker and supportive military wife, which took her on many travels across the country, including time spent in Cuba.  She worked in sewing factories, sewed things as a hobby for those she loved, and was a faithful member of Pinewood Baptist Church.  Bernice was loving and kind to family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray King, Sr.; parents, Manson Ezekiel and Lucy Louise Sumrall Littlefield; great granddaughter, Breanna Williams; brother, Paul Littlefield.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kathy (Wilkie) Parker, Sandra (Bruce, Sr.) Williams, Charles (Kay) King Jr., Belinda (Danny) Turner; 8 grandchildren, Chad (Katena) Havens, Jocelyn (Brett) Barnette, Bruce ”BB” (Tara) Williams Jr., Katrina (Aaron) White, Kayla (Austin) Hilton, Veronica (Aaron) Howard, Caleb Turner, Ashleigh Turner; 16 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Dakota (Loree), Alan (Natalie), Rebecca, Elijah, Montana, Aaliyah, Zoey, Gunner, Landon, Dixie, Brianna, Raylan, Kyler, Adaline, Cayson; 3 great great-grandchildren, Lucas, Henry, Ally; brother and sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a large circle of church family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sparrow Hills and Enhabit Hospice.  The love, care, compassion and respect shown to our mother and family can never be expressed in words.  You all went above and beyond to accommodate and care for our family.  We are eternally grateful for each of you.

The Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Moments Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.  The Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 AM with Bro. Brandon Dickens and Bro. Gary Sumrall officiating.  Graveside will follow in Pinewood Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers include Caleb Turner, Dakota Williams, Elijah Williams, Aaron Howard, Chad Havens, Austin Hilton and Aaron White.
