Athen Alan Bourgeois

Athen Alan Bourgeois, age 63, passed away on January 30, 2025 in Mobile, AL.  Athen was born in Anniston, AL to the late Mary Ellen Blewer and the late Henry Augustus Bourgeois and raised in Newnan, GA. He was employed as a welder and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and working with his hands.

He will always be remembered for having a good heart and the love he had for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Enith Brown.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Star F. Bourgeois; children, Vanessa Bourgeois, Amanda Bourgeois, Angel (Scott) Greer, Chaudion Smith (Robbie Duke), Tomi Smith and Christopher (Elyssa) Smith; grandchildren, Landyn Botelho, Braydon Botelho, Jaxon Botelho, Jonathan Greer (Brooke), Clay (Haley) Greer, Austin Young, Justin Young, Madison Smith, Bailey Bourgeois, Lily Anna Bourgeois; great-grandchildren, Canaan Greer, Jeremiah Greer, Nataleigh Greer, Merideth Greer and Evelyn Mae Greer; special friends, Steve and Cathy Williams; 12 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews.

The Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Movella Assembly of God.  The Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Pastor Alan Hinton and Bro. Fred McCann officiating.  Pallbearers include Clay Greer, Jonathan Greer, Austin Young, Justin Young, Tim Faggard and Steve Williams.
