Arcola McIntosh Obituary

Arcola Griffin McIntosh, 93, passed away on Friday March 3, 2023.

Arcola was a lifelong resident of Greene County.  She was born in State Line on October 24, 1929 to John A. and Spicy West Griffin.  She was the fifth of six children of that union.  Arcola married Farve C. McIntosh in 1950 and moved to Leakesville. She was widowed after 57 years of marriage.

Arcola was the oldest member of Leakesville United Methodist Church having joined there in the early 1950s.  She was a loyal, active, and continuous member since that time.

She is survived by a son, Mike McIntosh (Nancy), grandchildren Melanie McIntosh Williams (Scott), Dylan McIntosh, great-granddaughter Charlotte Williams, special friends and “borrowed children” Steve and Brenda Smith, grandchildren Alaina (Chad) Garick, Megan Smith, and great-grandson Nathan Garick.  She is also survived by her sister, Daisy Griffin Brewer.

Arcola also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives as well as many, many dear friends.  Family and friends were her most cherished possessions.

The Visitation will be Monday, March 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home, Leakesville. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Victor Chatham officiating. Burial will follow in McLeod-Magnolia Cemetery.

The family extends a special thank you to all the caregivers, friends, and family who have done so much through the years, but most especially in the past few months.  There is no adequate way to express how the visits, phone calls, food, prayers, and assistance in so many ways have blessed our family.  Each one of you made her life full and complete to the end.
