Amanda Allen Obituary

Amanda Lee “Meme” Allen was embraced into the arms of Jesus, Granny (Doris Harris), Daddy (Joe Allen), Papa (Denson Allen, Sr), and Aunt Kathy Allen. She lived a life full of love and kindness. She will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched.

Amanda is survived by her mother, Kim (Paul) Terry, grandma, Jill Allen, her four children- who were the light of her life- Max (Mollie) Smith, Jackson (Kassidy) Smith, Joe Lienhardt, and Lexy Lienhardt, her two sisters, Sara (Victor) Allen and Katie Terry, uncle, Denson Allen, Jr., niece and nephew, Emma and Jason Allen, her baby dog Blu, and her loving fiancé, Russ Scott.

The last post Amanda made states: “God says: I will make a way, when everything seems impossible. I will heal you. I will restore you. I will strengthen you. I will give you hope! I love you”

We find all our thoughts best summed up by her eldest son Max’s words: Although I do not understand why it has all worked out this way, I trust God has a purpose, even when we cannot see it or make sense of it.

Every single day, 91 people die from a drug overdose. That is 91 families shattered. 91 voices silenced forever. 91 laughs that will never be heard again. 91 graves dug. 91 bodies buried. Unexpected, Unnoticed, Irreversible.

Day after day. Month after Month.

Everyone knows someone who has struggled with addiction. Everyone knows someone who has overdosed. And too many of us have held resentment or kept our distance from people fighting battles we do not fully understand.

But when they are gone, are you ready to face the truth that you treated them differently, maybe even harshly, because they fell into the same trap that takes 91 lives every day?

Addiction is a disease, not a moral failure. It does not make someone less deserving of love, grace, or dignity.

Jesus loves every single one of us the same. Without conditions. Without judgement. And if he can love us all equally, even in our mess, then so should we.

Let this be a reminder to lead with compassion. To reach out. To forgive. To speak up. And to never wait too long to say what matters.

Hug them tight. Life is short and life is precious.

John 13:34 – A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you that ye also love one another.
