Alton Bodo Merritt

Alton Bodo Merritt, age 83, passed away August 10, 2025.  He had a passion for gardening and tractors but most importantly his family. He had a servant’s heart and would help anyone that he came in contact with. He was a faithful servant to the lord and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.              

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Merritt; daughter, Rachel Merritt; son, Alton Merritt; parents, Albert and Sarah Merritt.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Amy (Scott) Cochran; grandchildren, Sam Merritt, Jed (Haley) Merritt, Rachel (Tay) Merritt, Carley (Tyler) Bond, Harley (Rayna) Merritt, Elijah Merritt, Isaiah (Mackenzie) Merritt, Levi (Winter) Merritt, Russell Merritt; great grandchildren, Agustus Merritt, Brantley Merritt, Weston Merritt, Madison Bond, Mason Bond, Maevry Bond, Atlee Merritt, Baleigh Fairley, and Kylin Thomas; numerous other relatives and friends.

The Visitation will be Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Corinth Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will be Friday, August 15, 2025 in the church sanctuary beginning at 10:00 AM with Bro. Jeff Bass and Bro. Larry Havard officiating. Burial will follow in Pipkin Cemetery.
