Lonnie Glen Meador, age 53, passed away October 10, 2019 after a hard-fought battle with Extramammary Paget’s Disease (EMPD); a very rare form of cancer. He regularly attended Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed wood working, fishing and spending time in the outdoors. After his cancer diagnosis, he spent a lot of time in the church and telling others about Jesus. He will be remembered as a very hard-worker and known as the most loving person. His caring personality will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Betty Sue Cannon Meador; brother, Rudy Gainey; sister, Sue Taylor.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lisa Broussard Meador; children, Stephanie (Mike) Hauler, Briana (Byron) Cooley, Kaitlyn (Trey) Dunham, Lana Meador and Melissa (Jon) Scruggs; grandchildren, Holton White, Jacob White, Kennly Dunham, Cruze Cooley, Weslyn Dunham and CarieAnn Cooley; sisters, Debbie Turner, Reta (Garland) King, Lynn (Ricky) Gibson and Paula (Dennis) Woodard; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
The Visitation for Mr. Lonnie Meador will be Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Monday, October 14, 2019 beginning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Hunter Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ronnie Sharp, Lloyd Baker, Dennis Broussard, Johnny Paul Williams, Michael King and Tony Neal. Honorary Pallbearers include Forrest Lovelady and Dob Tompkins.
