Amanda (Franklin) Jones

Amanda Jones, age 84, passed away December 18, 2019. She was an educator in several school districts for 32 years. She was an active member of Movella Missionary Baptist Church. Her many activities included Sunday School teacher and Prayer Warrior. Her greatest legacy will be her family. She loved each one of them. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.                         

She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Euvon Jones; parents Benjamin and Georgia Franklin; brothers Jones and Ben Franklin; sister Georgia Vaughan.

She is survived by her two daughters, Edwina (late Steve) Goff and Edna (Wally) Sumrall; grandchildren, Tiffany (Stephen) Brown, Brook Goff, Ryan (Leanna) Goff, Dustin Goff, Meghan (Evan) Jackson, Johnna (Taylor) Weldy, Travis (Katie) Sumrall; greatgrandchildren, Tucker Goff, Sawyer Goff, Eli Jackson, Eli Reese Jackson, Maddox Brown, Claire Goff, Sadie Grace Sumrall, Charlie Sumrall and Ivy Lane Weldy; nephews, Larry Vaughan and Harry (Angie) Vaughan; other extended relatives and numerous friends.

The Visitation for Amanda Jones will be Friday, December 20, 2019 at Movella Missionary Baptist church from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. The Funeral Service will follow beginning at 12:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Joey Reus and Bro. Donald Brown officiating. Mrs. Jones will be laid to rest next to her husband in Movella Missionary Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers include her grandsons, Ryan Goff, Dustin Goff, Stephen Brown, Evan Jackson, Travis Sumrall and Taylor Weldy. Honorary pallbearers include Bill Cochran, Derrick Cochran, Billy Howell and Dob Tompkins.
